GS300 Sport Mk1 acceleration

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Can anyone explain why I seem to get average acceleration up to about 3500rpm and then it seems to give an extra surge up to the red line ?

It's very similar to what you'd get with a variable timed engine, but I thought the GS300 Mk1 didn't have variable valve timing.:?:

Just for the record I love this car - I've only had it for just over a month and it's a real pleasure to drive (apart from the steering vibration that others have experienced as well and the drivers door seems to vibrate a bit a high speed - all minor niggles though).

Thanks in advance

Dude,

Just be thankful that you are not basking in the obscurity of the blue oval!!

I have the VVTI version and it don't feel like anything special. its the fact that is able to change gears without driver or passenger feeling a thing! limo-like smoothness. All you really need to know is that the car is bomb proof and brisk with it. Never been in a Mk1, must try one someday... any offers?
