Buying is200 Sport this weekend

After many months and looking at buying new, the piggy bank in now full, have a list of used is200 sports to view at the weekend, and would like to have a deal sorted by the following weekend.

All advice on buying 15K - 20k worth of is200 welcome.

Fancy the sport for the LSD ( might see some track use ), but could be talked into an SE for the right price.

Fancy Blue, Silver, or Black ( or even red ).

Don't want a light coloured interiour for fear of it looking grubby and showing marks.

At what mileage are the "big" services and cam belt change ?

Any common faults I should ask about ?

Would you buy from a Lexus dealer or private ?

Check the wheels and paintwork! Some wheels can suffer a bit of corrosion and some of colours show up stone chips and scratches. :)

I too was in the market for a £15-20K IS200 Sport a month ago. I plumped on a Granite Sky/Exmoor Leather X reg with 11,000 on the clock for £17000. (The list was 17850 b.t.w).

I go this from Lexus Leicester and I have to say the buying experience was very enjoyable.

I have noticed that with the darker colour it does show up scrtaches and chips, very annoying when I have had it only 2 weeks!

Having said that I think the colour is stunning and I wouldn't change my choice if I could go back.

I'd avoid the light trim unless you enjoy cleaning! Have a look at:

Pitted wheels isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it means the dealer will order you a shinny new set under warranty! I think I'd prefer that.

For an A1 condition you should be looking for roughly £18000 - £18250. Good condition £17500 - £17250. This is for a private sale, trade around £15500 - £16000 depends on them.
