Could anyone help me? I have a 01 rx 300 but the alarm has a mind of it`s own.

There is no reason for it going off when it does which is anytime it likes day or night! It is now sending me and the neighbours round the bend. Would be grateful for any advice. :shutit:

I don't know if it is the same as the Mark 2 alarm but if so I would suggest inhibiting the internal sensor before locking the car. On the Mark 2 there is a button on the sensor you press before getting out of the car.

If the problem disappears then you need the internal sensor checking otherwise it sounds expensive to me.

Steve,

I have exactly the same problem with my Mk1 RX300. There seams to be no logic or reason why it happens. Is there a sensitivity adjustment i wonder because i have to say the alarm is sensite, for example try to open the tail gate without switching the alrm off firts and off it goes.

If you find anything out i would be greatful if you could let me know.

Regards,

Darron :tsktsk:

Try pressing the key fob a second time when locking to disable internal movement sensors.

As for opening the tail gate without switching the alarm off, isn't it supposed to go off when you do that?
