Fading Airbag Plastic Cover

Has anybody else experienced this ?

The square plastic airbag cover on the dashboard looks a lighter colour in different lights ?!? :duh:

If anyone has experienced this, what did you do about it - if anything. I'm not all that bothered but would be interested if there is a simple answer to solving the problem.

Yes, i think everybody experienced this. I don't really care about it. I use simple dashboard cleaner and i spray more on that cover, so then it is more less the same color.

Yep mine does as well. Sometimes it looks like it has a layer of white cack on it.

I was a bit concerned that it may be the cleaner I'm using, as I do know that some of them contain a high level of solvency and should NOT be used on airbags as they obviously have a thinner outer layer. But, the stuff I'm using is the Meguiar's interior cleaner and didn't have any probs with previous cars.

But as long as it's not just something happening to mine, I'll leave it.

I could always make some of the other plastic a lighter shade so it blends in :D

It's probably caused due to UV light fading the plastic.

Try cleaning it with a product such as Sonus Eclipse that helps to cut out UV light.
