Exhaust Rattle When Under Load.

Just picked up a used Lexus IS200SE 2002 model, and have noticed a rattling noise from the exhaust?I live at the top of a steep hill, and when I try to go up the hill in second gear it rattles like hell. The car has done 430000 miles, bought it from Lexus in Cardiff. It could be that its the way I drive, so before I ask Lexus to take a look I wanted to know if anyone had any advice?

You sure its in 2nd and not 4th?.........its easy to do.

My mistake 43000, definately in low gear, also get it when driving along at relatively low revs. When I put my foot down it rattles for a moment then goes away.

Take it back :D for a new one :D

Check the rubber bushes that hold up the zorst,and that the hook on the zorst is pushed in all the way.

I'm taking mine back then if it goes like ***** of a stick as there must be something wrong with it.

My Sherpa Van (B series engine?) used to have this problem, had to buy a new one to fix it - Van that is... :D
