£1500+ For A Replacement Cd Unit !?!

I'm still having the odd ERR3 with my CD player so thought I'd enquire about a replacement unit from Lexus or at least a repair (I have a 99 IS200SE out of warranty)

A new unit was quoted at over £1500! And a repair at around £300+

So the obvious alternative is to go for an aftermarket solution ... I reckon buying a new CD unit and facia, and fitting can cost less that £300.

Now I need to find a CD player/changer that I like.

As stated I have a 99 IS200SE... will the amp in this work with any CD unit I consider buying?

Are there any articles/threads indicating any pitfalls I need to consider ?

Spend yer money elsewhere. I'm not sure about the amp question, but I'm sure there are enough ICEheads out there who can answer it.
