First time here too, thought I'd failed as I saw him marking the sheet as I was driving out the car park but he was just writing my name :o

100% on that theory test too, only took a few minutes, bet it was harder than a A Level though :P

Failed twice when 18, too many bad habits picked up driving around on L Plates in my old 1200 Beetle. Couldn't afford to take test or have lessons again until I graduated from Uni. Got it second time around then, got in trouble though 'cos I got a job saying I had a licence, but I failed the week before I started :crybaby:

So had to go cap in hand on the first day and come clean, and passed it a week after

:offtopic: , but year did you pass your driving test in? I passed in Feb 1997, 6 months after the introduction of the Theory Test.

August 1994 on the old system

2nd. time. First fail was because I was at the wrong test centre! It was 3 miles away. So I was late and it was classed as a fail !

That was back in the 70s. In a Cortina 1600E

Passed first time and it was only 10 days after my 17th birthday!! :P

I only had three lessons too!!!

The only contreversial thing about this topic is this:

When learning for your driving test, the instructors teach you how to pass the test and not actually how to be a good driver so this is not always an indication of a good driver!

Somebody told me that one time and I thought it was fairly correct!! :D
