I've managed to nothing else today. It gave it a light wash since it rained last night and thats it! too afraid to start work then all that will happen is 'RAIN'

The surface is alot flatter, just needs depth and clarity.

Roll on dry but not too hot weekend!

:D

The surface is alot flatter, just needs depth and clarity.

get the AIO on there, and buff off.

apply 1 coat of SG.

Literally - use so little you can hardly see it going on. May help to mist your applicator with some water to begin.

buff off.

leave for 24 hours to cure.

Repeat.

this will give beautiful depth and clarity, especially as you are doing such a through job preparing the surface ;)

Next job is to SFX-2 it, or not worth it? Since thats 4 more stages (SFX-2, AIO, SG, Pinnacle Wax)

With the SG, leave it to cure overnight before i apply coat of wax?

You are a brave man for sanding the paint on your car :o

but as mentioned the results look B) even in the early stages

Does this only work on solid colours?? just interested, haven't got the balls to do it to mine

lol.

MartinC - Mine is solid colour! and its worked!

I am going to look for 2000grit paper tomorrow at local paint suppliers, 1200 is bit heavy as takes 2 goes on SFX-1 to compound it... 2000 grit should cut down on the elbow grease :)

Right...

Re-done passanger side with 2000 grit, got some from paint suppliers... 50 sheets £21!

SFX-1 done 2 times and the finish is unbelieveable!!!!! :o

I have never ever seen my car with that much depth and flatness! i'm sooooo happy!

However, moving round to the driver side, looks like the Orange cutting pad has well and trully taken a beating.... (sorry Colin, will buy you replacements)

But now i can't get the same pad anywhere and half the car is still wet sanded lol i need another cutting pad.

I can get meguairs one locally, its a cutting pad... Will it be okay?

Pic's later :)
