L.j.k.setright. R.i.p.

I'm sure many of you will be sad to read of the death, after a full life, of the famous L.J.K. Setright, probably the best writer on things car in the past 30 years.

Just dug out an article from 'CAR' April 1995, pp.132 + 3 on the LS400 Ser 2 changing to 3;

"In a first class car I no more expect to hear the engine than should expect to hear the plumbing in a first class hotel".

He liked Lexus cars, as he always appreciated good engineering and excellence in construction, plus good handling. We'll miss him.

remember reading his articles in Car. Always knowledgable..unlike Mr Clarkson

Mr Setright was obviously like an LS, very refined.

Clarkson's more like a chavved-up Nova.
