The Supercharger Throttle Cable Thing

Recommended Posts

ok, as your looking towards the front of the car, you've got the tensioner pulley. part of that pully, to the left hand side, is a bracket, which is used for tensioning the belt, getting leverage as far as I can understand. It's this bracket which was just touching the belt. I've had to bend it back slightly otherwise the belt would have chaffed to death.

i thought that this is what u might be refering to! Just bend it back out the way it is normally at 90 degrees, when i fitted mine i noticed that the bracket is very easily bent.

just to confirm its the bit that has a small piece missing out of it and is just below the actual tensioner????????????

the easiest way to tension the belt i have found is to get a hammer, hold the head in your hand and now when standing on the RH side of the car, place the handle on the tensioner bracket assy then just push with the hammer handle so it tightens the belt - u can then easily tighten the retaining bolt with the other hand

NOTE: if i ever say LH or RH it is from facing the normal direction of travel, ie when sitting in the drivers seat.
