Changing Speedo / Odo Reading

Hi all,

Is the odometer reading stored on the ECU or the speedo (clocks)? The reason I ask is I was contemplating installing these…..

http://www.lumineedles.com/

Now I’ve messed up when doing this on my CRX and had to get a replacement set of clocks, the odo reading on the replacement was higher, but didn’t bother me as I don’t see myself ever selling the car. In any case I’m after a set of these when it’s finally finished for the CRX….

Or this which would be better for my turbo conversion….

Or may have both because I’m greedy ;o)

Anyway the chances of me messing it all up are very high, so need to know as a backup plan that worst case scenario I can get a 2nd hand unit from eBay and plug n play, rather than having to get someone to recalibrate it to the correct mileage reading as I’ve only done about 3K miles since new.

Thanks,

Ash

it is stored on the clocks

Oh feck, I don't think I'll bother than, don't fancy messing it up.

Looks like I will have to be contempt with the conversion Fargo is working on.

Anyone changed the needle before? Is it easy to mess up?

Thanks for the reply

Thanks,

Ash
