hi there,

my dad has tried to get a touch up pen for his ls400 recently, its the amethyst pearl which is pinky silver colour, but his local lexus dealer reckon they cannot get hold of it anymore as it was a discontinued colour

there must be a way to get hold of it somehow surely.

i dont know the paint code, i did look in the knowledge forum but i cant find the paint codes anywhere.

anyone wth any ideas on either the code or where he can get some.

he is currently in the USA so he is gonna try over there to see if they have any but any help much appreciated

chris

It could be difficult, my dad wanted a touch up stick for the shade of green on the bottom half of the car and they could only supply the main colour that the rest of the car is.

You might have to try another company, even Halfords can mix paint from their database which a friend has used on his old Nissan and it seemed to be quite a good match.

Phone up Lexus UK and tell them your situation and that the dealer is saying it's no longer available. Maybe they can help you out somehow?

Must be the day for it! I was just trying to order paint to touch up my (Grey, but called somethingorother-Green by lexus) where I'd been mildly assaulted on my wing mirror casing.

Not available..."probably so little call for it" was the response. Was very helpful though, and, in the end, I managed to use BRASSO!! Took off the offending 'other' paint, leaving only two minute scratches.

Good luck.
