Any Is200 For Sale?

Ok, basically my beautiful IS200 Sport had a close encounter with a 206 in the early hours of saturday morning. According to Mr 206 we dont give way on roundabouts! :duh:

So he ploughed into my rear wheel at 30mph! As much as i thought the wheel sitting at a 30 degree angle looked original, i thought id better set it straight. Mr 206 wanted to do it without the insurance, took it to Lexus Twickenham, who quoted the repairs to be around £9500!

Mr 206 was not best pleased and then decided to tell me he has no insurance! So now i have to go through the lengthy process of sueing his *****!

Im guessing my car is gonna be a write off, so am looking for a new one, anyone got any ideas??

Which insurance company are you with? Those directline adverts say that if you're hit by an uninsured driver, you don't lose your no claims nor do you pay an excess, in which case you'd be sorted.

However, if you're not with directline, this is useless and I apologise for that. :)

Either way, I don't think there is anything you can do if he's uninsured, you have to claim, they'll pay for it out of the 'uninsured fund' and you'll have a claim on your policy

Feel bad for you mate, its awful getting hit by an uninsured driver, I was lucky and only needed a new front bumper, this one is ridiculous, that guy should be put in prison, but I'm guessing he won't even be prosecuted

Yes, im insured with Tesco, looks like the only way to go forward is the go through the courts. I know i have legal protection in my policy and that i will receive the money EVENTUALLy but its just such a pain!

I just had some maintenance work done on the car which makes it even more annoying! :tsktsk:

Ah well

Yeah its safe to say there was alot of damage!!! The funny thing is on £1700 of that was labour charge the rest is parts and materials!

Went to say goodbye to the car the other day :crybaby: the guy there seems to almost garuntee itll be a write off, i wont know till wednesday though.

On the insurance side of things, apparently the 206 was owned and insured by the drivers friend, so i think my insurance company are trying to claim it off of them. Something to do with the fact that she was liable for letting him drive it without insurance?? I dunno, but if it'll go through it would be much quicker!

May have to end up waiting till september to get my next Lexus, by the time everything is settled down i have received all the money and my insurance goes back down. Looks like its gonna have to be a run around for a while

Thanks for all the support and suggestions though :D
