Gps Wont Work When Moving

Recommended Posts

I was quite dissapointed to discover that my $1500 new GPS system disables several of the important functions if you are moving. You must stop to change your destination, or another point of interest. It seems ludicrous to me that my wife could not look something up while I'm drive, or use most of the functions. Apparently, Lexus feels even though there is a disclaimer displayed each time the car is started, that is not enough.

Does anybody know of any way to hack out or disable this feature.

I look forward to hearing from you

I'm confused - I thought the GPS option was £2300 that should be about $3700. Do lexus have different versions? Perhaps the more expensive version has what you were looking for?

I would guess it is down to the ludicrous liability laws in the U.S, where everybody is desperate to cover their backs, for fear of a lawsuit.

thats the version I have.

and no - you cannot use it whilst the vehicle is in motion.

Quite right too - last thing we need is people with their mobile in one hand, and setting the sat nav with the other (don't even think about how they are steering the car :P )

The UK version which is an extra £2,500 is exactly the same.

What a rip-off
