Which HU did u get in the end?

Stay away from TG screens, poor build quality i have few here and there rubbish!

Get yourself a VEBA or CK-O screen, reliable and damn good pic quality.

Well its too late i guess..

TG probably will ask a trillion question to take it back, there awrkward bunch, pretty much lost there eBay account due to some severe abuse given to customers..

See how it performs mate, might be okay.

Failing that the VEBA is nice

Yes, i have installed a 7" Phillips widescreen in the factory motorised housing.

Still working on getting the switchs to work and the angle switch. Its pretty simple though, will wire the power feed for the screen from the ignition so its only activated via a key.

Actually fitting the screen you will need the late spec housing for the bigger screens. You'll have to strip you TG screen to the bare bones then install it inside the case, making sure all the driver boards etc are well insulated and cables heatshrinked for better protection.

Install a fuse for live, this is important, i've seen cars go up in smoke without this, especially with the headrest monitors!!!!!

  • 2 months later...

hi i got a that stereo, its wicked....

the best thing about it is it plays MP3 DVDs so on disc is like owning and ipod mini but it cost 30p ..

i really like it and i have installed headrest monitors and they work perfectly with it.

Also when someone said it looks cheap and plastic i disagree it has the same sort of finisha as a black ipod or a psp. i think it looks nice alot better than most boring stereo's.

just my 2cents

owen
