Lead Times

I'm considering an IS220d SE-L and wondered if anyone had any thoughts on possible lead times. My current IS300 warrenty runs out end of Jan so now would be a good time to trade.

Colour isn't really an issue as I have no negative or positive fealings over any of the colours. However, MM is a must so will add to the lead time.

Cheers

Scott, My experience was as follows:

23rd November ordered car and placed deposit because I was told that a car in my spec was physically in the country.

28th November the dealer rings and says there has been an error and that the car is on a boat and will arrive on the 16th December

16th December boat didn't land

23rd December car arrives at dealers and I collected it on the 30th. I could have picked it up sooner but I was away over Christmas.

I think now that more and more cars will start to be sent to the UK so if the dealer can lay their hands on one in the dealer network I would think that lead times would be very short, you could probably have a car in about 2 weeks.

If it is more of a specialist order, unusual colour with sunroof for example then this might take longer. When I ordered my IS200 I was told lead times for a vehcile with Sat Nav would be 3 months because they are built to order. It may be the same with the New IS. Check with the dealer they should be able to give you a better idea.

Hope this helps.

Well, I can answer this question myself now. So for anyone else interested ... it took just over a week for Lexus Poole to take my order, source the 220d (SE+MM) that I wanted and deliver it to the dealership. Not bad going!

  • 2 weeks later...

Living in Ireland, I ordered a 250 SE ("Executive" in Ire) ifrom my local Irish dealer n November and was promised a Feb delivery. Speaking to the dealer yesterday, he cannot now guarantee delivery before March, and even then not necessarily in the colour combination I want.

Has anyone else in Ireland or UK had this experience? What are lead times like right now?

I'm perfectly happy to switch dealer if anyone can make a recommendation.

Tks.

I guess it all comes down to colour and options. What did you order ?

I would recommend Lexus Poole, but at the end of the day they all have access to the same car pool/factory.

I ordered 250 SE auto in slate (dark grey, or whatever the name is in different countries!!) & black leather.

Anyone got an idea what lead times are in UK and other Irish dealers at present?

Hi, I ordered my new IS250 SE MM Auto this week, Silver etc. Very surprised when i was told it be with me no later than 14th Feb as one 100% match was on the cargo ship. so approx 4 weeks., very quick delivery.

Hi everyone, just come back from ordering a new IS220d SEL with MM. I ran through quite a few combinations with the dealer and it seems lead times vary pretty much as follows:

Much shorter lead times on SEL MM as opposed to SE MM. Mine in Mesa with grey is 1 to 2 weeks as opposed to SE in Mesa with grey 8 to 9weeks. Black interior nothing showing on SE but 1 to 2 weeks on SEL.

Much more availability all round with beige interior, SE down to 1 to 2 weeks with certain colours including silver
