Memory Seat Problem

Hi,

This is my first post after owning my LS400 for about a month, lovely car btw. ;)

There are a couple of electrical gremlins which need sorting out but other than that no issues.

The one thing I am not sure about is the memory seat operation. The owners manual didn't come with the car and I can't seem to get the buttons to do anything.

A colleague who has a soarer seemed to think that you should hold down the buttons until a beep to set the memory and just press 1 or 2 to recall.

Is this correct - if so mine don't seem to work :( and any ideas as to the problem would be appreciated.

Try making all the settings you like, with the key in ACC position.

Then hold say # 1 button till it beeps.

That should memorise the setting if I remember right!

I also seem to remember that car must be in Park, with foot off the brake pedal.

Mine seems temremental sometimes, I'll check Park and the brake next time.

Memmory also remember the door mirros and steering wheel position in my Mk III '95 car.

I have tried the various combinations of button presses when in park with ACC on.

Still no luck - It's not a feature that am likely to use very often anyway, so not the end of the world.

Seem to recollect that you that you hold down the memory button then the button you need to store on, keep them both held down until it bleeps. It is a while since I had a 400, so not terribly sure. I thinks it also need to be in park or neutral with ign on. This works on LS430.
