hi guys any one having trouble with tiscali broadband mine cuts out frequently it might just be the modem a bt voyager 2100 adsl. like to know though.

more than likely internal extensions causing probs, the easiest and best way to prevent this is to make the nearest socket to the pc the master, have an SSFP or NTE2000 frontplate fitted, backfeed the rest of the extensions via the SSFP. The pro's of this way of wiring this way is the extensions are filtered from the main socket and will cure the prob and remove the need to fit filters in the rest of the house, the downside is the pc can only be connected to the socket with the SSFP.

the other causes of int dropping assuming line is good are line length limit close to being exceeded, exchange fault, electrical interference and indeed poss modem fault. (in that order)

cheers guys sorry i didnt answer broadband was down again .So i went back to basics reconnected the original freebe modem and hey presto i was back in action :D . after a phone call to pc world took my duff modem back and was given a sparkling new one. On the down side though i now have to reconfigure the wireless network to accept the new base unit . still all good fun and thanks for your advice.
