Just took the plunge and have put down a deposit on a used GS300SE which I'm collecting next week . Can anyone let me know if the CD changer will happily play CDR's. On long journeys, I like to compile my CD's onto 80min CDR's, you can usually get 1½-2 per 80min CD which saves on changing. I've read some posts in the IS200 forum regarding errors supposedly caused by the playing of CDR's, and one mentioned that Lexus do not recommend it.

Also, does anyone know where I can get a device which kills or seriously disables people who whack into the side of your car in car parks when they open their doors. The paintwork is pristine and I'd like to keep it that way

My 95 MK1 GS300 Sports' Multi-disc happily play's CDR's.

It looks like the original player, so i guess you should be ok

Mine plays cdr's quite happily.

If you pop down to your local pet shop, they sell devices which can be used to fend of plonkers who trash your paintwork......you'll find them under the 'Rottweiler' section. :P
