Declare the specification? Especially the MM pack.

Reason I ask is when I bought the IS200 Sport with styling kit nobody recognised the styling kit, most saying it's fitted after I'd bought it etc. Had to prove from the web / brochure that it was an option. Do the insurers recognise the MM, auto etc. this time? After all the MM is about 10% of the purchase price and if it's not covered ......

Hahaha ... it took me four attempts to get Tesco to recognise that I was insuring an IS220d with MM. In fact, they weren't interested in the MM part, something about being insured for "Market Value" as long as it didn't exceed £40k.

I would imagine that most other insurers will need to have it declared, otherwise you may find they don't cover that part and would accuse you of under-insuring.

Auto is normally recognised as this can make a difference to the grouping, cost of repair etc. Styling kit is an interesting one ... I notified them of my aftermarket sports grille and they just weren't interested, again I think this may be Tesco specific. I think if the styling kit is recognised as being original equipment then it shouldn't be a problem. More of a problem when it's added afterwards and then you need to notify them.

If you're at all worried then best put it in writing and then they have no comebacks.
