Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

why do you think you have made a mistake............?

:( Well kinda hoping I haven't, but just wondering whether it's gonna be an expensive business with things go wrong with it etc...

Is it worth going to a lexus dealer for servicing etc.. or does anyone have any recomendations for good mechanics that know these cars well.

:yahoo: that sounds good to me, I'm in west london ten minutes from heathrow, doesn't have much history, however I did notice that the cambelt was changed at 15750 miles, which in my mind could mean one of two things, one, the clock has been changed :nugget: or the previous owner did very little mileage in it and had the belt changed at the six year interval regardless of mileage :D I'm kinda hoping it's the latter but knowing my luck :( still it is still a dream to drive. If anyone knows any lexus specialists that aren't lexus, in my local area I would be very keen to find out.

Most LS Owners look after their cars regardless of expense, so I would say the Cambelt was changed simply because according to the service intervals (time) it was ready.

Also (no offense anyone) most LS drivers are ....errrr..... more mature! :P so you have a nice chance of finding a good low mileage one.

Does everything look as it should for a low mileage car? No shiny steering wheel, worn pedels, driver's seat bolsters???

If everything looks the part - great!

Finally - the car is Japanese - you would be very unlucky for it to be unreliable, but at the end of the day, regardless of what you paid for it, you are driving around in a £50k car - it will have some £50k car bills..... with my expensive car, I allow for this by having a direct debit into my 'NSX Account' which I then use to cover all services and it has an amount to dip into should anything ever go wrong (touch wood - all good so far - and mine is a '91 car!)

Actually - I said final.... but one more point - join the Lexus Owners Club - usesful source of info, friendly people, and you are supporting the Club to ensure resources like this continue. Click 'Go Gold' to join....... oh - you get discounts and stuff too - get to use the VIP lounge at the Motorshow, stuff like that.

No offense taken you young whipper snapper. It is true that most LS owners are more mature but low mileage cars are less common. That said though most will have been serviced exactly by the book and repaired regardless of cost. You don't run a car like an LS an put up with something wrong.

I was talking to my dealer last week about the extended warranties and they say virtually nobody takes it out on LS's because they never go wrong.
