Rx 300 Series 1..... Coolant Loss

Has anyone else suffered a coolant leak or loss of coolant.?

Mine has just started to move from Max to Min within a couple of days. Its booked into my local garage in a few days time but I was wondering if this was a problem experienced by anyone else!

It's not something that has happened on mine or a common fault I have heard of on the RX model.

I noticed mine was at minimum the other day, not had time to look into it further but I will start with the radiator cap and look for any leaks around the engine bay.

Well its gone into the garage this morning so fingers crossed!

Yes - noticed coolant level had dropped suddenly to minum [sE-1; 39K]. I check engine fluids regularly (old habits...). Lexus dealer gave me top up coolant f.o.c. and I'm keeping an eye on the level in the header tank. No obvious leak. Due for the expensive 40K service / MOT next month so they can invetigate professionally.

I'd be interested to learn the cause of your loss of collant, so I can check.

Well here goes....

"It was a "T" piece to the rear of the heater matrix". It means nothing to me but it was apparently quite easy to see from underneath.

All sorted and didn't break the bank either!

Thanks - I'll suggest they inspect at forthcoming service.

Hope they don't ask any follow-up questions, as I too haven't any idea of what it is!
