It is possible to take the original unit out of the car and out a 3rd part one in ?

I want to add a Denison MP3 unit, but as this can work direct with some units I wonder if it is possible to take the original unit out, add say a Sony and then add the Denison underneath.

Is the cabling standard ? or do Halfords stock the convertors as they do for cars like BMW ?

Cheers

I have a 98 GS300-2 - I'm assuming the audio is similar, if not identical to yours.

I have SatNav which changes the head unit a lot - but the amp should be the same.

The hifi is far from standard! - it's a Pioneer amp, which is wired into the car's own wiring harness and does not use RCA jacks at all.

The Dension MP3 satellite display is not a full DIN size unit either, and won't fill a full size gap in the dash.

My advice is to use the FM modulator that comes with the Dension device - works very well IMO.

I hope this helps
