Hi, and welcome to the club.

I've got one for sale for 6K

http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=30154

..it's done more than 80,000 miles but it's got Full lexus service history and drives like new. Lexus engines will go on forever.

:D

Hello

Looks like a really nice motor but i'm looking for a box standard example. I've currently got a modified honda and want to chan ge that for some luxuary driving.

You will get rid of that easily though.

do you have any tips on what to look out for mechanically?

If you are keeping the car standard then i would recomend the sport package as this has a bit more to offer, If you looking to touch it up a bit then look for a SE, As you get a nice bundle of goodies for a good price. Which should leave you more to finish it off. As for the navigator pack its a nice touch. I have seen some systems going on eBay which means you could add it too your own model. But im not too sure what the steps are too do this... best to ask the pro's if your going down that road. :whistling:

I have brought a IS200 SE and haven't stopped smiling. Good luck with yours and enjoy it :)

Hello there,

As someone who has just bought my first Lexus, an IS 200 SE (about a week ago), I can thoroughly recommend it.

One word of advice, if you are on a tight budget watch out for the insurance price difference between the SE and Sport, ask an insurance broker to get you quotes for both. I did and there was about £150 difference, but then my accident history is less than impeccable!

Generally the engines last a long time and Lexus has very good reliability. I think there was some concern over tyre corrosion on the early models so watch out for that.

Good luck!

Im in Sheffield not too far away, im unsure on garages bud, i myself looked for about 3 months before finding one that gave me the feeling that that was the one for me.

I had to travel to Lincoln to get mine :duh:

i found for some reason that prices outside of yorkshire and manchester tended to cheaper with lower mileage

PS Fuel economy and Lexus do not mix lol

Good morning,

Shab - running costs as regards to fuel are quite high. The IS200 is a thirsty beast, gobbling around 30mpg combined driving. That said, you probably save that money in reliability terms. As Lexus break down less frequently and will not need as many replacement parts, you will probably save money in the long run.

On another note, I would recommend looking for an IS200 with a bodykit if you can find one - they make the car look even better.

I just bought my 99 IS200SE last May with 69K on the clock, 7.5K. Perfect example.

I got it from Stephen Billau & Sons in Darlington. They specialise in top end motors and always have a few IS200's in and the cars are usually very good.

Check them out, they have a website.

http://www.sbillau.co.uk

Should not be to far from you and worth a trip on Saturday !

While you're up this way, why not come and check what we have to offer, Lexus dealers aren't always the dearest and all our cars are independently RAC checked and come with all the mileage and history checks you would expect.

check our stock on www.lexus.co.uk/teesside

We also reccommend becoming a gold member we offer special discounts on parts, service and accessories.
