Japanese Imports

I had an SC which I had to very reluctantly sell early last year - unexpected tax bill + divorce (great combo) I have been on a mission to get another ever since (SC not wife). I have been looking at second hand prices and Japanese imports come at a worthwhile discount (and some great colours) but there has to be a catch. Enlightenment would be appreciated.

what can you expect to pay for an import SC ?

Depends what year and miles.

I bought mine 2.5 years ago and it was 1 year old with 4,000 miles. I paid £36K the UK equiv. was about £44K.

Now they are of course getting very cheap Ive seen UK 01 / 02 ones go for as little as little as £18 - £ 20K but with big miles like 80,000.

I wouldnt even consider one with more than 40k on the clock.. just imagine how much the roof would cost to fix if that went pear shaped. Ive only got just under 8k on mine after 2.5 years :D

Even if you got a late one that would still be in warranty I dont know if you would be covered over here. I had a 1 year old import BMW 330 cab that had engine problems. I took it to my local BMW dealer and never mentioned it was an import. They did fix it all FOC. But they must have known it was an import as everythings done on their computers.

Having said that my Lexus has been 101% reliable in everyway.
