okay, i've just seen a car advertised as having a 'cat D repaired front end'...

it says the engine is sound, and it was just bodywork... and lets say the asking price is about 40% off normal...

So.... what actually is cat d? considering the car any engine damage could be problematic...

also, would it be increased insurance for the cat d?

it is only a whim, and im probably not going to go ahead, but since its one of my dream cars, i may as well consider it... so any info would be greatfully recieved...

Not a bad idea, but you really want to to soeak to your insurance company first, and get a detailed examination of the car...

A mate bought a Cat D Merc C class, S reg 240, 60000 on the clock, £1200, spent £2000 on it, and it's perfect!! he's had it six months...
