Still got the niggle that I popped back with so will need to have a think on that one !

Anyone needing alignment would def recommend Tony - top bloke and knows his stuff :D

Thank You..... Good old Lex i love to set them apart from.......... this annoying steering wheel position!

One in about 20 has 'axle' miss-alignment so when i set the rear to absolute 0 thrust the axle position miss-aligns the position of the front and deceives the cameras... the downer is i cannot predict this in advance or measure it....... John Bean my future machine so far have not concluded if their machine will measure this disparity....

Here is a picture of 'Thrust angle deviation'

Now assume the rear wheels are pointing in the correct direction but the axle is displaced by 2mm.... then the front correction will be amplified and cosmetically off-set the steering wheel.

The result is embarrassing and easy to correct once realised.... but not at the time of correction since the problem is dynamic not static!

Now I know that the car is straight (thanks to you) could I just sort the cosmetic steering wheel not being straight issue by simply getting it removed and refitted 1 spline on (hope this makes sense)

No.. The Axel position needs to be 'mirrored' from the steering position... this correction 'manually' will become visible on the machine and display true correctional positions............. 'Please' do not remove the steering wheel!

This condition is not unique to Lexus..... over the last week i have had a Honda NSX and a Rover 218 both came to me with the steering wheel off-centre, both displayed symmetry in the 'Thrust Angle' and both i had to correct in the same fashion as i will yours.

Are you saying that when I come back in 2000 miles you can get the steering wheel straight ?

BTW - had a long drive in it today - feels so much better - thanks again.

No... book in soon... with the steering position established and settled i feel i can conclude this now.
