when we first launched the club one of the members was stopped and told that the chrome on his lights were too much.. blah blah

It used to be a news article but faded away.

I think you are only allowed to have so much chrome. Thats why we dont see chromed cars floating around! (damn!)

However, i expect the police man was an idiot and had a fullfill a quota somewhere.

It just made me thing why lexus changed the headlight styling in later models.

  • 1 month later...

I've a set of front black chrome smoked headlights coming direct from Japan.

The same supplier does the rear smoked ones as well.

If all goes well and I don't get stiffed too much import and vat duty, I'll open up a group buy on these.

Are there any front non-automatic (Altezza) light clusters that don't have the orange indicator perspex? I'd like to get those orange/blue blinker thingamibobs to put in place of the regular bulb/orange filter.

Just wondering. :whistling:

....Got any ETA on your lights yet?

Well I'm due to meet ewe lot at Brooklands on 8th February. :)

So if I get me headlamps before then, I'll have them fittted.

It IS possible to colour your existing headlamps. But it's not easy as it requires dismantling the existing unit.

I will be attempting this myself when I get my new set, so my existing set may be for sale if it works...

If you feel you have the skill to do it yourself, see here FROM IS300.NET

Mat did it on his lights.... B) But then he's a smart R's...... :geek:

OK,

I'm pleased to say, I just got my Black chrome headlights B) (Took 3 weeks!!)

Good news is they arrived safe and sound. Well packaged too.

Bad news is I got stiffed £34 from customs, even though they were marked as a gift!!

That make's the total purchase price £334 inc delivery & import duty.

Now these items are available from your Lexus dealer.

However, they are on a 4 - 5 week delivery time, and they cost £431.68 inc vat.

GOLD members can get them discounted to £366.

That's a £30 difference.

Therefore I'm asking if you can get them from your Lexus Dealer albeit £30 dearer, would you want a group buy set up, and run the risk of damage, lost in shipping etc?

I'll post piccys when I get a chance.

There's other work being done on my car at the mo, which is taking presidence.

Zee, if you want them in a hurry, and are willing to take the customs risk, then I'll post you the contact details. They are in America, and the goods are sent from Japan.

Failing that you can get them @ 15% discount form Chris.

I working on finding a supplier in Japan, so we don't have to pay the margin USA suppliers puts on.

This not only goes for the headlamps but all JDM parts.

And the next person who says try takakaira.co.jp
