It is theoretically possible, and has been done at least once. However it is not easy, and likely to be expensive.

Lexus won't do it, so you need to find the parts second hand, and then fit it yourself. You need the screen, CD unit and the complete wiring loom, including the stereo connections. They crop up on eBay every now and again and go for anything between 500 and 1000 quid. I think the whole interior needs to be removed to run the wiring through the car.

wow....sounds like a huge job. More than expected. I suppose it would probably be a lot cheaper and easier to find a tasteful way of mounting an after-market SNav in the same area. If anyone's ever done that, I'd sure like to hear from em with pics :)

I'm pretty sure that someone has bought the OEM housing and then fitted some form of aftermarket satnav into it, can't remember who though :duh:

Anees fitted the OEM housing for his carputer.

This is soemthing im in the process of. The motourised housing is now in and working, I have the audio leads hooked up to my stereo and I just need to mount my Navman in there! Im sure i'll post pics when its done :D
