Engine And Transmission Mounts

Just wondering how many owners of older Lexi have ever considered checking/changing their engine and transmission mounts? The engine mounts are liquid filled, and absorb the engine vibration as does the transmission mount. I've read a lot on the US forums about how after just 60k miles, these mounts are often split or worn, leading to vibrations being transferred into the cabin. In fact, I got all my mounts changed on my old LS and the mechanic said that the original mounts were shot to pieces.

Since many of us haven't driven our car when it was new, we might not realise that it's not as smooth as it once was. :shifty::shifty::shifty:

Yep, have a read on www.clublexus.com. Basically, the mounts perish and split over time, leading to all sorts of vibrations coming through the steering etc. It happens over time so slowly that most owners don't notice, unless they happen to drive a brand new model. I think if you rev the engine when the car is stationary, it's not meant to move AT all. If it moves even a bit, your engine mounts are probably gone. Also, some clunking noises when braking/turning are the result of worn mounts.
