Help. Fog Lamp Fitting

Recommended Posts

its been a unlucky day.. the nearside front fog lamp was hit by a stone when i was driving on motorway.

the complete fog lamp unit came off.

when i came home and checked the car, i could only see a broken wire in the hole, with no plug or etc.

fortunately, i found a used fog lamp on eBay, which cost around 70pounds including p&p (shipping from hongkong), then i called lexus and quoted 245pounds for the parts and labour plus VAT.

so i am wondering is it difficult to fit a fog lamp on the bumper? i think i just need 2 screws to fix it on, but have no idea about electronic parts.

thanks very much~

Did the fog light come off when you where driving :o ??.....anyway simple enough two bolts on the inside of the lamp, you can get to it from the gap next to it, if you unclip the inner arch and just pull it forward so you can connect the new lamp, but if your saying that there is no plug onit just cut the plug off the lamp and solder the wires (or you could use a scotch clip for ease as it is tight and there is not much wire to play with). Hope that helps :)

do you have any panels missing off the car??? because there is no normal way for the fog light to fall out even if it is loose behind the bumper

i got no idea how it came off, not sure anything else has fallen out coz what i can see now is only a hole left on the bumper.

What Fluff is saying is that if it was pushed back into the hole there is nowhere for it to go, it would be stuck inside the undertray/wheel arch covers. The only way for it to come out is from the front.

so i assume it came out from the front then, actually i didn't stop the car when the fog lamp was hit, untill i got home and found out the whole lamp was missed..
