Hello,

it is time to go for MOT, or how it is called in english. Today is the day:) the thing is, that i have no pre-cats in my IS. So as i remember it is not a major problem. I just need to warm the main cat, and the CO will be fine. So the question is, for how long to drive before MOT?

thanks in a hurry:)

i vaguely recall a figure of 1/2 hr ... but not too sure.

actually... not so sure now. I think it should be quicker .... as i know for a fact that my exhaust reaches nominal temp ... usually in around 5-10 mins of driving. So I assume the cat to be the same.

also depends on the climate you are in.

Might be a bit late now but I drove mine around for 20 mins, got to the test station only to be held up for 10 mins, in which the car had cooled down a bit. It failed the emissions test first time so we did it again and as soon as it reached the correct temperature it flew through.

Had to hold the revs to about 2500.

Lee.
