Dodgy Parking Sensor

Im having a problem with my rear parking sensor.

It's been fine for the few months Ive had it but now as soon as its put in reverse it just gives out a solid tone.

Sometimes it does work correctly, but more often than not it sounds like a Space Invaders game.

I suspect either loose wiring, or it could be a bit of damp wiring, as ive noticed a patch of carpet in the boot that is damp, on the passengers side. Maybe this is having an effect?

Hi,

Sounds like your on the right track with what could be causing the fault..

The sensor might need a clean or that could be faulting,think the damp in the boot is more the problem though.

I have the same issue. The main one works though. This is in a a black box in the boot on the passenger side. Lexus had my car and it works now but I have qty 4 reversing sensors too and since Lexus had it they are now too quiet but I can't find the bloody buzzer. I think that is a damp issue too though. Just need good weather and time so I can have a look.
