Lowering Springs

Time has come to lower my IS 200 Sport, unfortunately I can't stretch to coilcovers so it will have to be springs, so here's a few questions for those with just springs fitted:

What are the springs fitted to your car guys, why did you choose that brand?

Is anybody running the PI brand of lowering springs, if so are they any good?

How difficult are they to fit yourself?

Any info greatly appreciated.

Keith

- Eibach

- Because lots of other people use them on IS200s without any problems.

- I had them fitted by a local independent garage so don't know.

Dont know about PI...think somebody used them a while back and didn't have great luck...i may be wrong tho'

Lowered mine with Spax springs...6months down the line still good! took about 2weeks to settle down.

I think that Spax have just had a new range come out too

You can lower it yourself if you can get hold of spring compressers...otherwise spend a few quide and get a garage to do it, easier and safer.

I fitted Eibach springs to mine to replace some tein coil overs, deffo not as good as the coil overs but better than the standard springs. I fit them myself.

getting the original lexus dampers off the car I had alot of problems getting enough clearence to remove the struts and almost as much problem fitting them back in, using spring compressors is easy but it takes alot of time and could be dangerous if they slip off so take care. if i was to do it again I'd pay someone else to do it...

but the end result is worth it :)

-30mm Eibachs. Great springs, great price and make the car look alot better..

It doesn't cost much to get them fitted by a garage and then the job should be done right and alot less hassle for yourself..

Don't forget to get your geometry done afterwards too.

Maybe a bit late with my input but I am running with PI. Lowered the car by 30 to 35mm. Look good & absolutely no problems. Had them fitted during a service by the local Lexus dealer who I get a good price for all work. Bought from my local car shop for about 140 approx (memory going).

Cheers
