Another minor gripe...

Inability to disable the passenger side airbag coupled with the rear seatbelts in most modern cars not being long enough to secure a rear-facing infant's car seat!

Found this with the IS as well as the RX. The front belts are long enough to do this, but it seems like the rear seat belts were designed for carrying cardboard cutouts of people :duh: Obviously it's not possible to carry the rear-facing child seat in the front seat where the belts are long enough because there's no way to disable the passenger side airbag!

I have to kind of force the child seat into position and it's kind of angled "forward" (towards the rear) just to have enough slack to get the shoulder strap around the back of the seat nacelle.

Longer journeys is not too much of a problem since we also have a carry-cot nacelle with fastening straps for the rear seat of a car -- this of course takes up half the back seat though and with another toddler child seat also installed it makes it a bit of a tight squeeze to fit them both in.

Can't wait until the infant weighs at least 9kg so that we can put her in a normal child seat!

I guess it depends on the seat you buy. Our rear-facing seat fitted fine in the back of our IS200.

Ours is made by "Bebe Confort" and is part of a complete ensemble of pram, nacelle, and car seat. Recycled the one used when Gabriel was born. Of course at that time, the rear facing seat was used in Caroline's old Honda Accord which had enormous rear seat belts.

We tried the neighbour's Maxi Cosi and it wouldn't work at all (bigger than the Bebe Confort).

The IS250 SE-L passenger airbag can be turned off and on via a switch by the door hinges. Not sure if the same applies to all IS250's and IS220's but assume it does.
