80k Service Costs

MY IS went in for it's 80k service yesterday at Lexus Hanley service and I am writing to praise the level of professionalism I received.

Basically, the service cost me £190 I supplied my own oil, changed aircon and airfilter myself. Car was cleaned inside and out and what a fantastic job they did. £280 normally all in, £380 for the same service in Chester btw.

Asked about how much they would have charged for oil, I think it was about £30. In my last service at Chester I was charged £68 for the oil which I disputed but was told it was the market rate. Anyway, I'm going to now follow this up out of principle. Be warned and don't be a victim of daylight robbery.

Anyway, job well done Hanley - I wish I'd brought my car to your more frequently in the past!

What oil did they use in the other service? I know if its Mobil 1 its very expensive.

I've phoned them and checked - Chester use Castrol fully synthetic, and the cost is right.

I used Mobil S (semi synthetic) in the service this week only cost me £18 for 2 x 4 litres from Makro ;-)

Anyway, my point here is - supply your own.
