Insurance Shockers

Recommended Posts

:crying: :(

Really pleased with having fitted my new HKS Super Drager recently right up until the point I told my insurance company!!!!

Only have six weeks left to run on this years policy and was charged £14.70. It got me thinking and I have now worked out that it is costing me £145 a year extra. :duh:

Checked how much it was when I lowered the suspension with my Eibach springs and that is costing me £72 annually. The springs only cost £160!!!!:sad:

No very happy now!!! :crybaby:

At least you are still insured!

My old insurance coy gave me 3hrs to find new cover when I told them about my PECO exhaust (had to plead to get a 24hr extension).

The good out of it was found a cheaper quote through elephant.co.uk and it also included my wife which the old one didn't.

They most likely didn't charge you anything for the HKS, but if you read your documents the have an administration fee of around that figure and thats's what you paid for them typing for 5 secs on the computer.

It still sucks the big one!!

Hi Guys,

BR7NY - I will check my documents and pray that they do charge an admin fee. That way I will save a batch of mods next time and tell them all at once!

Bad new about them scrapping your Insurance just for fitting a new exhaust. I hate Insurnace companies. You never know how good they are until you need them and by then it is too late.

Matt - I rang the Lexus Club Insurers and got all they way through giving the details but when I mentioned the Mods they said the scheme isn't quite set up yet and I should ring back mid January. I will and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I have 6 weeks until my current insurance runs out so it could be perfect timing.

I need to clarify the exact situation and Insurance charges as I was thinking of going for the Supercharger option next. Might end up with a really nice car but not be able to drive it legally!! :crybaby:
