Are Repairs Ok

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I posted before about a metal spring that hit the underside of my IS220D and punctured a hole.

The repair has been completed but there is a bump on the floor (under the front passengers feet).

The bodyshop tells me this is because of a "heating tunnel" and is in all cars.

I cannot recall ever noticing the floor of the car uneven before but then I did not pay as much attention.

So the question for all you pristine IS owners is - if you move your hand accross the floor of the passenger footwell - within 1 foot of seat - is the floor smooth and even or does it have a noticeable bump/ledge?

I really don't believe them but I would like a bit of evidence. I may have to ask them to compare it to a new car.

However if any of you have the "bump" then I will be satisfied.

Thanks

That's an option but for me its a last resort.

I'm not diy. I have never done something like that before and I am not sure I could reinstate the carpet.

I was hoping some other forum member would be able to help.

Thanks anyway.

Thanks to everyone who replied on this. I finally got the problem sorted out this morning.

The controller for the Bluetooth car kit (nokia) was not put back correctly and caused the carpets etc to sit incorrectly.

It took three visits but I got it sorted. I was wondering if I was being too fussy but the feedback here verified that it was not right and now that its done I am delighted.

Thanks

Glad to see you've all niggles sorted. I believe all Lexus owners are pursuing for perfection

"If we are not fussy we would have been driving a Mitsubishi" :D
