Ipod Installation?

Hi all.

Can anyone help please. I want to put an Ipod into my 2001 GS430. Anyone know of any info or kits or advice on how, whats needed and where it can be got from :duh: ???

It would be nice if like the touch screen could be used to control it if thats possible?

Harmon Kardon have a kit for the ipod. Looks pretty nice. has a LCD screen you mount on the dash and then a "i-drive" style controller that you use to go through the menu etc...

I'm pretty sure someone has already done this on their GS430 Sport. I think it was Matthew McNally. He managed to link it straight into the back of the head unit and he was using the touch screen satnav display to control the track selection. Can't remember if he need some kind of plug for the ipod. Do a search on here.

Thanks, yes it was Mathew who put it on the site back in December 2005.

I sent him an emails mid December and he said he would get back to me shortly with a group buy .

After numerous pm's to him and asking for info on this site I have deceided 8 months is long enough to wait and have started to look elsewhere. :shutit:

I have now found what I am looking for, you can operate the ipod from the touch screen and plugs into the cars existing wiring. :P

I will let any interested parties know how :winky: and where to source this if anyone is interested, not just tease people and then go quiet.
