Newbie With Some Good Info !

Recommended Posts

i recently bought an ls440 to run around in now realising its totally too big for my wife to use as a daily drive. but the point of this post is that it was needing an mot before i could advertise it for sale. so i went about putting it through its mot and there was a clunk coming from the rear under braking. it was the bush in the trailing arm at the hub side. lexus quoted £160 for the hub carrier but said there is usually consequential damage when removing it. ie, wheel bearings , ball joints, seals etc etc.. and my bill could be 6/7/800 pounds and up ! but as i only see the car being worth £2000 i wasnt willing to do this. so i called a lexus parts place to see if it could be fitted seperately and they too said no. but they use a modified supra bush at £17 from the dealer which works perfectly when modified a little to fit hence the saving of enough money for a holiday for 2 people ! total cost to fit !£60 ! bargain ! i will apologise in advance to you all if this is old news to you guys ! cheers rab..newbie !

Awesome info..thanks..

You know you can get a poly bush made for the LS400..for around the same price as the modified Supra bush..

see here - useful for others as they do all kinds of poly bushes for Lexus/Toyota cars (adus 505 is the one I used on my LS400)

They don't do international orders, so get an American friend to order them for you.

This link tells you how to change the bushes out
