Help Audio With No Sound In Gs 300 1994

HI THERE FELLOW OWNERS :D ,

IM A NEWBIE HERE AND ALSO PROUD TO SAY A FIRST TIME OWNER OF A LEXUS B) .

ITS A 1994 MODEL GS 300 IN BLACK WITH LIGHT SMOKE TINTS AND 18"BROCK alloys.

WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR THE PREVIOUS OWNER WAS LESS THAN HONEST ABOUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT, BUT THE ONE THING HE DID SAY WAS THAT THE AUDIO SYSTEM POWERS UP BUT DOES NOT HAVE ANY SOUND AND THE CD CHANGER DOES NOT WORK :tsktsk: .

I REALLY DONT KNOW WHT TO DO GET IT WORKING AND WHY IT IS BEHAVING LIKE THIS, PLEASE PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP

I AM ALSO NOT SURE HOW TO GET IT OUT AS THERE ARE NO HOLES FOR ANY EXTRACTION KEYS TO GO INTO .

Hi and Welcome to LOC.

Sounds like the amps packed up,i think on the GS300 it will be in the boot on the drivers side.

Please feel free to post some pictures up of your car :)

Hope thats of some help,theres loads more info on the GS section of the site for what ever other problems you say the car had.

OR IS IT POSSIBLE TO REPLACE IT WITH AN AFTERMARKET AMP OF ANOTHER KIND WITH SOME MINOR MODIFICATIONS?

WHAT IS THA EXACT LOC AND IHAS ANOTHER MEMBER IN THE PAST DONE THAT KIND OF WORKAND POSTED PICTURES?

IF SO COULD YOU PLEASE POST THE LINK TO THE THREAD.

ALSO IM AM THINKING THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER MAY HAVE TAKEN THE AMP AS HE WAS A ROTTEN LITTLE BUGGER.

As you're knew I'd just like to point out that emails written in capitals are deemed to be SHOUTING

I can't help you on the location but there are a few breakers on the web who will deliver an Amp (if that's what you need) with a next day delivery. I've used them a few times with no problems.

Saves the hassle of searching around the scrappies yourself to find it doesn`t work.

You get a 30 day warranty from them.

I didnt like to say about the CAPS LOCK :D as i think i did it me self when i first went on the net

Try giving Swift breakers a call,they break alot of Lexus models.Ive bought stuff from them and never had any problems,like above they give a 30 day warranty.

I found where the amp is installed, well my 11year old son said "why dont you look under the cd changer, you've looked everywhere else.

I'm currently in the process of resoldering all of the dry joints in the amp, it has seen better days.

the last owner used the car to make trips to the skip as he was re-doing his garden and got mud and water everywhere including the cd changer and amp, anyway I shall try it 2moro and I shall post if it works or not :hocus-pokus: .

Dont worry about the caps thing its good to know when one is doing something wrong :winky: .
