Newbie-is200 Auto

Recommended Posts

Hi there. I have just bought a 02-is200 auto. It is my first Lexus & first auto. I am loving the experience but I would like some help, if you would be kind enough to share your knowledge with me. My Lexus did not come with a manual so here are my questions:

1) Should I always us drive gear or is it better to use L, 1,2,3 then D?

2) What is ECT PWR?

I know this is simple stuff, but I want to look after my Lexus and not wreak it buy selecting the wrong gears etc

Thanks for any help in advance

Congrats and welcome to the club!

1) Just leave it in D when driving normally, use 3, 2, L when descinding on steep inclines (i.e engine braking).

2) It makes the car change gears quicker and at higher revs - only really use it when overtaking.

:D
