Is200 Boot Opening

Hey guys,

I just got myself an is200 and am wondering if u could point me in the right direction to fix two small problems i have.

1. When i open the boot with the fob it just releases the catch but it seems with time the mechanism has become weak and cannot lift the lid as i believe it should. Any ideas how i can make it a bit stronger?

2. The washers for my front lights don’t seem to work even when lights are on as they should. They don’t even rise up and no spray comes out even though the bottle is full. What’s the most likely cause?

Cheers for any help

Eddie

after reading the other threads it seems that this is a common problem and i dont think my springs will be lifting my boot lid any time soon.

I have tried the lights on dip beam for the washers.. still nothing and the fuse seems good too so not sure whats wrong as yet, may have to get a haynes manual

the jets are pushed out with water pressure, have you made sure that the hose clip is still connected and that its not leaking onto the floor

sounds daft but is/has there been a private number plate on there before?

reason i ask is that when i bought my car it had a private number plate on, when i picked it up it had the orignal plate on, and they had stuck it ontop of the private one.

anyway.... i found this out recently as ive just got my own plate and when coming to put it on i realised there was 2 plates stuck to the boot, hence why it wouldnt open properly. now ve only got one plate on it opens fine.

if that makes ANY sense :hehe:
