Parrot Bluetooth Kit

Recommended Posts

Fitted the CK3100 kit myself after reading all the threads on the wiring for the radio. You can't run the car kit through the radio without the AUX IN kit advertised elsewhere in this forum but I used an existing Nokia speaker from an existing car kit (my car is ex-rep but still wonderful). Also used the existing Nokia mic as it was all plumbed in (but had to swap the connector).

Anyway - easiest scenario; use an external speaker, use the Parrot mic, the grey wire on the stereo is the MUTE.

Greatest thing I have ever fitted to a car, the sound quality is fabulous, you can call a number by talking to it and the quality on the other end is brilliant.

Downside; if you are talking to passengers in your car as you go along it sometimes thinks you want to call someone, mutes the radio and says it doesn't recognise that name - swearing at it then just makes it worse

Cheers; :geek:

Yes, you are correct. Not sure whether the Parrot kits work ok with the S model stereo but the SE and Sport will not work without the adapter because of the amplified system.

External speaker is the only option at present I think as the chap who makes the aux adapters is unfortunately out of action at the moment.

I fitted acouple of theses kits and they work off any stereo, it doesn't matter bout aux in or mute as you can strip and splice some wires. If the stereo doesn't use standard isoblock connectors just identify what wires are for what speakers, cut the loom for the phone kit and insert itin before the speaker wires enter the stereo, its important that you do this as the parrott kit will stop the radio an cd playing tru the speakers when the phone rings and switch to the pone output automatically, it only sends it tru the front speakers and doesn't send any tru sub. just splice in the earth and power to the stereo, what you need to find is an ignition wire, otherwise the kit will be always on. if theres not one for the stereo try the glovebox light or the cig lighter. splice in the yellow wire into this. and hey presto. all in all a very good kit, i highly recomend it but the key is to splice and insert rather than buying adaptors. the parrott.biz website identify all the wires for you. best of luck

i bought parrott 3200 kit from eBay & had local i.c.e shop fit it ..cost £60 ..works through stereo, wasnt charged for any adaptors. as brendan states it must be spliced ( i guess) dont know how they did it, but it works great.

if your not confident in fitting it yourself, get a proffesional to do it...a lot of auto electricians told me it could not be fitted to a lexus because of amp but specialist i.c.e shop will fit no problem( guess it depends on how qualified the person is)

Cool, think I may go down this route then. When I talked to my installation people who are acredited by a few manufactures they said it can be done. Seems like its now possible :D

Got an '04 Se and ck3100 due to be fitted this Tuesday by local ICE shop who are also charging 60 quid - must be going rate. I've phoned a few other locals here in Belfast who just won't go near the splicing - just talk about converters and ISO's etc. Geez, good staff are hard to find... :eerrrmm:

Woohoo! It works! B) They figured out the wiring with the amp and it works a treat. I chose to install it under the seat heating switches, just behind the cigarette lighter. Really chuffed! :D

Anyone located the LCD in any other parts of the car? Down side with mine being behind cigarette lighter is taking eyes so far off the road. The voice activation works pretty well so little attention is required on the lcd itself. Up side is that it keeps the dash real tidy and actually looks well since it's there is no silver on it.

Hey guys,

From my installation people (Elecanic in Wolverhampton - excellent btw) they charge between £35 and £50 to fit a Bluetooth car kit to the IS. Thinking of getting me one I must confess. eBay retails around £100 for the 3200 and £70 for the 3000. Any ideas on where they are cheaper? Halfrauds charge £200 for the same damn thing!

Keith

BTW - just a small note, I've just found on the CarphoneWarehouse website they're offering the 3000 and the 3200 with free fitting - 3000 is £79.99 and the 3200 is £149 - they're damn good prices!

I bought my is 220d 2007 a couple of years ago. It has a Parrot 3200 in it, but it doesn't work. I've only seen it power up at random a while ago.

It's puzzled me for a long time., i could use your help, please?
The blue wire is connected to the ciggy lighter with an inline fuse and into the small square block im the car. I have taken some photos for better illustration.
