Help Required In South Wales....... Please

Hi All,

I have spent the last couple of days searching for anything remotely to do with wheels and alignment, looking for a recommended alignment specialist - but have come up with nothing. I maybe putting the wrong information into the search box but there doesn't seem to be anything in South Wales mentioned.

If anyone has any details of a company they can reccomend then I would be extremely grateful. If there is a thread out there that I have missed then please accept my apologies and point me in the right direction.

The second point is, I have noticed quite a few of you mention changing your wheels over for the winter. Now, forgive me if I am wrong, but wouldn't the alignment require some work again unless the the rolling diameter and width were the same? If I am thinking cack then please correct me - I seek knowledge and information from the wise ones!!!

Any advice on both subjects would be appreciated.

Cheers

Mark

the only alignment specialist i know of in s wales is 'The Hub' in Cardiff. I don't know what they are like or if they are any good.

Hi

I have tried the Hub :duh:

Try

A & A Tyre Services

Whittle Rd

Leckwith Ind Est

Leckwith

Cardiff

Cf11 8AT

They have just spent over £40,000 on new testing /alignment kit and they seem to know what they are doing, but they will only use the standard set-up from Lexus :excl:

You need the set-up info from Dr Bones Here

Also very interested in this thread so be happy if you'd post any results up here.

Also very intrigued at the Dr. Bones geometry settings, does any body know a link or web page where they are listed. I've tried the one above and just get onto the main W.I.M. website??

Cheers

The article lists all the problems I have (basically excessive tyre wear on insides). But I still can't find the settings, are they given out freely?

My main problem is I now have four tyres that are illegal on the insides and still have about 5-6mm of tread every where else. The MOT is due in two weeks and I have a set of four tyres coming via courier.

There have been two suggestions of tracking places in my area but I doubt they'd use the W.I.M. settings.

Should the car be tracked with the old, worn tyres? Or should I get it done after fitting the new ones?

This is the second time this has happened and it's starting to get to me having to bin tyres that have 80% of decent tread left on them!

Cheers

I'd be well interested in hoe you get on, Lexus Cardiff said my tracking was out and the tyres were going on the insides on my last service and I'd rather find somewhere a wee bit cheaper to get it done (£390 for an 80k service :S ), just got 2 new ones for the LHS of the car so I'd rather they last!

Most places are not able to calculate beyond the data held in the machine so they will need guidance. Assuming the car is not modified then the wim positions in the knowledge bank will solve the wear problem. If needs be they can contact us and we will talk them through the procedure.
