Newbie Needing Advice

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I have swirls on the paintwork you can see these when the car is in the light (probably from cleaning), can anyone tell me the easiest way to get rid of that? I also wondered how you get rid of those every so slight scratches where people have put their bags etc on the boot lid or walked past the car and caught it with something. Don't want to try T-Cut untill i know if there is a better method.

Cheers,

- Paul

for the slight scratches, try scratch-X.

for the swirl marks, you could try the Sonus swirl mark remover stuff from Autopia.....people swear by it :D :D

Thanks for the advice, I will go buy some Sonus and Scratch-X. Does Autopia have an online shop?

Cheers

- Paul :)

I have a question which is slightly :offtopic: but is kind of related...

In the centre console there are two displays for the climate info and the radio, both of these on my car are covered in (not deep) scratches. As you view these from the side you can always see the reflection of the windows in it and this makes the scratches look worse, or from my viewpoint at least.

Does anyone think a careful application of scratch X or other similar products mentioned on this thread would sort this out ?

Apologies for hi-jacking the thread but it's not really worth one in it's own right :D

Not too sure as i've never tried scratch-x on clear plastic, is it easier to replace the plastic? will have a look at it and come back on that one

On the IS200 it's just a bit of plastic that look like it can be peeled off and have a new one stuck on, not sure about the 220d though
