Garmin StreetPilot series are good.

I have the 310, was on special at Halfords at the time £199, but there are other models. Found it rather good, used a bit for finding out of the way leisure centres and schools when taking the daughter to swimming galas over s wales and the west country.

Not too fancy, portable, downloadable POIs for SAFETY cameras etc. quick satellite locking, touch screen, full postcode entry.....

New 5xx series has all the Bluetooth bits....

Worth checking out

I have an Ipaq PDA with TomTom on the only problem is you have lots of wires.

I'd say the TomTom One is the best one i've seen it's cheap and it's very easy to use, there isn't any wires atall and it's SIRF III which means it's got the highest accuracy rating. :)
