Could anybosy with any experience into parachute jumps/sky diving (Fargo??) suggest somewhere i could do a parachute jump from. i've not done anything like it before, but have just got and itch to jump out a plane :hehe: :P

also, what kind of cost would i be looking at?

I live in the midlands, so somewhere around here would be best, but not a necessity.

cheers is advance,

rob

ah dont worry about barrie, he gets scared easily! LOL

TBH I found the skydive a bit boring, we went upto 3000M freefall is about 30 secs then the canopy opens and you float about for a while. I wouldnt bother doing a tandem again. Someone suggested an accelerated freefall course (you jump out with 2 instructors beside you)

the parachute jump was a static line, so when u jump out ( on your own) the parachute opens and you float down, the height is a lot less and no freefall is involved

good man rob...

a parachute jump will be whats called a static line jump from 3000ft, where by you jump out and the chute open automatically as you leave. is all right but very tame and boring.

now a skydive on the other hands is AWESOME,,, its a sensory overload.

if you go for a tandem then you will jump from 12000ft (2 miles) and freefall for approx 45seconds..

cost is approx 200 quid, if you come up to Hinton then i'll hold your hand in the plane also.......before throwing myself out..

doesn't one have to be less than a certain weight to do it? 18 stone or something

just remember, the skydive is more dangerous. some bloke died a few years back, well the instructor died, the trainee survived as the instructor (tied to his back) cushioned his fall..

i believe its 15 stone maximum weight

@maneesh, people die everyday: car accidents, etc etc. that's not really a reason not to do it for me. i have faith in those trained to supervise such activities. :D
