Copied Cds - Saw A Strange Tip In The Manual!

Recommended Posts

Was reading the GS manual like you do, and saw it mentioning that as copied CD's are different widths etc, to get a pencil and rub it along the very edges of the CD to force it into shape!

Does anyone hear actually do that as I've never heard of that before!!!

i can't believe that is actually documented!

i always assumed it was only the inside ring, not the outside ring... either ways, i'm gonna have to get out all my old cd's that don't work in the car and try them again...

personally i always thought that the audio cd's that didn't work in my car, were because i burnt them faster than 8x speed.

Yeah that makes a difference but also down the the media type used, the dye, and the burner used..

I have a LiteOn drive that is great and quick, but the burns aren't great in the car when using disks with light green / gold dye - however with blue dye disks like the Verbatim DataLifePlus it's perfect, never a problem!

Used to use a Plextor drive and that thing never skipped a beat, any disk type would be flawless, don't think the quality of the burn is as good on the LiteOn, once read a test that proved that some writers physically write better and they even did microscopic comparisons :o
