My New Is......

Good Morning all, my IS seems to have developed a new noise..... could anyone identify what it could be.

The best way in which I can identify the noise would be a fairly high pitched, quick tempo ticking noise.

It only seems to occur when rolling (no acceleration) at slow speeds. As soon as I touch the accelerator the noise goes and again when I dip the clutch the noise disappears too.

Is it anything serious? Or just a feature

PS i recently went gold but my name thing at the side indicates i havnt, is it just a case of waiting for admin to sort things?

Hi,

PM steve about the gold program you have,he should be able to help.

The noise you talk of is more than likey the thrust bearing is a little worn which works the clutch.

Its a common noise of most makes of cars with a manual gearbox.

Id say nothing to worry about,just make sure they replace it when you have a new clutch fitted at some time in the future.

Cheers for the reply, this was what i was suspected it may be, i have been getting a bit of clutch judder recently so i guess it wont be long before it needs replacing.
